About us

One family, 153 hectares and a way of working that hasn’t changed

Società Agricola Felice Agricoltura S.S. farms between Bagnolo and Montemurlo, on the outskirts of Prato. Olive groves, heritage wheat, pulses, hemp, woodland and animals that roam free. We grow, process and sell everything ourselves: there is no step in between the field and your table.

What organic means to us

No synthetic chemical treatments, crop rotations that restore the soil, and animals that keep the undergrowth of the olive groves clear in place of the brushcutter. Conversion was completed in 2018 and since then we have been inspected and certified by CQ, a control body authorised by the ministry, under the code IT BIO 014 - 12788.

It is a method that takes more work and yields less per hectare. You can recognise it in the colour of the egg yolks and in the bitterness of freshly pressed oil.

The eggs are the exception: the hens live free, but the production is not certified organic and we do not sell it as such.

Social farming

In the countryside there is work you learn by doing, and groups have come to the farm through work-inclusion projects: they picked olives with us, followed the milling and learned a trade done with the hands. The photograph at the top of this page shows one of those groups.

It is an experience we would repeat. If you represent an organisation, a cooperative or a service looking for a farm willing to host, write to us: let’s talk about it.
